Anne Farrar

I worked at The Washington Post for 4.5 years. Durning that time it underwent a technological transition as well as visual shift. Built on strong photography, the institution continued to thrive and grow with a new CMS. I was part of the beta test team to help formulate photographic workflow and best build practices. Daily responsibilities included oversight and on-the-ground editing of 10+ daily and weekly feature sections, WP magazine and Sunday 1A.

WP magazine was my first entry into editing and workflow for a weekly magazine. Timing and collaboration combined with deeper thought really made this a fun product to work on.

Working with TDMN allowed me to cover international, political and major sporting events. Collaborating with other photo editors, we managed over 30 photographers and staff to cover war, 9-11, hurricane Katrina, olympics, presidential elections as well as local and state news.

Technology morphed the organization from film cameras to digital, a print product to building a website and working on multimedia projects.
